Opening for Slipknot at Tampa’s MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on the night of September 4, 2019, were French metal kings Gojira (along with Volbeat and Behemoth), who did precisely what support bands should: firing up the living fuck out of the crowd. That’s always been Gojira’s specialty — they’re one of, if not THE tightest, most powerful and straight-up best live bands on Earth — and that night was no exception.
