So, who watched the series premiere of HBO’s Damon Lindeloff’s Alan Moore’s Watchmen last night? Chino Wongeno and I sure did… and it was great! And one of the things that made it great: the score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (Nine Inch Nails, duh), which was most excellent even by that duo’s usual high standard of quality.

So, terrific news, directly from the official NIN web page:

“HBO’s Watchmen has begun! Trent and Atticus’ score is now available to preorder.

“The score will be available in three unique volumes, released at strategic times over the rollout of the series. The only physical media will be 180g vinyl.

“Created in collaboration with the show’s writers, each LP features the score from Academy Award Winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, as well as artwork and packaging exclusive to this vinyl release that explores the culture of Watchmen America and provides revealing insights into the saga’s mythology and mysteries.

“Volume 1 is available 11/4
Volume 2 is available 11/25
Volume 3 is available 12/16

Vinyl pre-orders are available now.

“Digital and wider in-store vinyl release for each volume will be available shortly after the above dates.”

Even if the quality of the show declines in coming episodes, it’s unlikely it will be because or Reznor and Ross’ work. So yeah this seems worth a purchase.

Unfortunately, album art hasn’t been revealed yet, but it’s a vinyl release from Trent Reznor so expect something cool.

Pre-orders are here. Watchmen airs Sunday nights on HBO.
