Horse the Band Are Horse the Back

The world could always use some more Horse the Band (never, ever to be confused with Band of Horses, ever). We last heard from the prog-metal pioneers (they call their music “Nintendocore,” which is apt, but is also a bit of an undersell) back in 2017, when they played a handful of shows with Graf Orlock and Infinity Shred. When they’re not doing small tours like that one, they tend to stay pretty quiet, to the point of there being confusion as to whether or not they’re still together. Point being, when they do announce live dates, it’s an event not to be missed.

Which brings us to the band’s latest string of gigs: there are even fewer than there were on their last outing. If that was a handful of shows, this is more like a thimbleful. If you live in L.A., San Francisco, or Portland, and don’t go see Horse the Band, you’re out of your goddamn mind. Sightings of Danzig in a good mood are less rare than Horse the Band concerts.

Here are the dates (via Lambgoat):

12/26 Los Angeles, CA @ The Regent
12/27 San Francisco, CA @ Slim’s
12/28 Portland, OR @ Star Theater
