System of a Down’s Shavo Odadjian Has a New Band

System of a Down bassist Shavo Oadjian has been quite vocal with his frustrations regarding the lack of new music from the band. Odadjian hasn’t been shy about venting publicly in recent years, throwing his bandmate Serj Tankian under the bus, saying if he had it his way the band would put out a new album every two years, and at one point even suggesting the band hire a physiatrist to help them work through the issue.

While System get along just fine to perform (they have several dates booked for this summer), Shavo has taken creative endeavors into his own hands with the launch of a new band, North Kingsley. Shavo made the announcement on Instagram over the weekend with a photo of the outfit, with Ray Hawthorne and Saro Paparian also pictured and tagged in the post. “Music coming soon!!!” is all we’ve got to go on for now, and while North Kingsley will surely have their own musical identity, those of you pining for new SoaD can at least have something to look forward to.

More as we get it.
