Watch Bodom After Midnight (Ex-Children of Bodom) Rehearse

0

Drummer Waltteri Väyrynen (Paradise Lost) has released a video of Bodom After Midnight rehearsing “Downfall,” from Children of Bodom’s 1999 sophomore efforts, Hatebreeders. Frontman Alexi Laiho has previously said that Bodom After Midnight will perform Children of Bodom songs, which makes sense, seeing as the former band is basically the latter band without drummer Jaska Raatikainen, bassist Henkka T. Blacksmith, and keyboardist Janne Wirman. That trio of musicians left the band last year, and collectively owned the trademark on the Children of Bodom brand, forcing Laiho to start a not-quite-new band.

In addition to Laiho and Väyrynen, Bodom After Midnight includes CoB’s most recent guitarist, Daniel Freyberg, and bassist Mitja Toivonen. The new project had a series of live festival dates scheduled for this summer, including appearances at Tuska Open Air, the John Smith Rock Festival, and the Summer Breeze Festival… but those events, like everything else right now, have been cancelled. So who knows when we’ll actually get to see these dudes perform.
