Sevendust’s Clint Lowery Sounds Amazing Covering Nine Inch Nails’ “Hurt”

0

Sevendust guitarist Clint Lowery has expressed a whole lot of insecurity about his singing voice on social media lately in connection with his quarantine solo videos. On one hand, I totally get it: I feel the same way about myself! On the other hand, I wanna reach through my phone to shake him and be like dude you have an incredible voice! cut it out! we love you!! Either way, I admire and appreciate the transparency; Clint has certainly never been shy about putting himself out there for fans, zits, warts and all.

So: in what he’s billing as his final quarantine performance from a series that found him tackling songs on his recently-released solo album, God Bless the Renegades — you can watch them all on his personal YouTube channel — he’s shared a cover of Nine Inch Nails’ heart-wrenching set-closer, “Hurt.” It’d predictably great, because everything Clint touches is, and while you might notice that the vocals are drenched in more autotune than they need to be — a function of his insecurity, I’m certain — they still sound fantastic. You can sing on my solo acoustic project any time, Clint! Jam it below.
