Members of Carcass, Gorguts, Exhumed, Intronaut and More Release Classic Rock Covers Album, F*ck the Virus

You’ve heard Leon del Muerte’s work in Exhumed, Intronaut, Impaled, Phobia, Murder Construct and a number of other bands over the years, but like most of us, the extreme metal guitarist has a softer side, too, growing up on the radio rock that ruled the airwaves in the day.

To wit, he’s taken advantage of the down time foisted upon us all by the pandemic to channel those influences with a whole bunch of cover songs by the likes of Kansas, Guns N’ Roses, Kiss, ZZ Top, the Beatles, Blue Öyster Cult, Def Leppard and more, and he’s invited a whole bunch of his friends in bands to help out.

Leon’s former bandmates in Exhumed and Intronaut join members of Carcass, Gorguts, Spirit Adrift, Ghoul, Imperial Triumphant and more on F*ck the Virus, the proceeds of which will go directly to artists impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Folks, we know there are a lot of metal covers of non-metal songs out there — especially lately — but you’ve never heard “Carry on My Wayward Son” or “Photograph” like this!

Stream the album in full below, and get the entire list of participating musicians and the tracks to which they contributed over at Bandcamp, where you can also purchase the album for charity for a very fair minimum of $7.
