Here’s Fleshgod Apocalypse Covering Mozart

0

Here’s one we missed last week that’s no less worth checking out: death metal troupe Fleshgod Apocalypse covering “Lacrimosa” from Mozart’s Requiem In D Minor opera. It makes sense, of course — Fleshgod have always leaned into their symphonic influences, going as far as to schedule a tour with an orchestra until the pandemic sank that ship — but the treatment they’ve given the tune here is especially beautiful, and this kind of thing is always a welcome respite from what we usually cover on these pages.

The band states:

“Even if the whole world is in lockdown, we still feel the need to stay connected with our fans all around the world. That’s why from now on we’ll be constantly releasing new playthrough videos, for all instruments.

“The first one is an excerpt from the magnificent ‘Requiem In D Minor’ by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, performed by Veronica Bordacchini and Francesco Ferrini.

Very nice, very nice. Enjoy below, with a cup of tea if you’re so inclined.
