In the time since the coronavirus conquered the world, there’s been no shortage of pandemic-themed metal merch, courtesy of artists ranging from Ozzy to Pantera to Slipknot to GN’R. But if someone were to hold a competition for the best pandemic-themed merch — or at least the most misanthropic — I think the trophy would go to Nine Inch Nails, who have just unveiled a “collection of re-takes [which] re-flects our anxiety and anger during this unprecedented time.” Put another way: the items re-appropriate lyrics from songs such as “We’re in This Together,” “Every Day Is Exactly the Same,” and “Capital G” for designs which will allow you to forever recall that 2020 has been a deeply, deeply shitty year.

Some of my personal favorite designs are below; you can shop the entire collection here. Don’t dawdle, because the items will only be available for a limited time.

In related news, as Nine Inch Nails prepare to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross recently won an Emmy for their work on HBO’s Watchmenputting them one Tony Award away from attaining EGOT glory.
