Beloved Ghouls (Slayer, Sepultura, Exodus) Debut Benefit Track “Terrorized”

There’s an alternate world in which Kerry King’s new band includes Gary Holt (Exodus) and Dave Lombardo (Mr. Bungle, Misfits, Suicidal Tendencies, Fantômas, etc.) instead of Gary Holt and Paul Bostaph. Barring some legal magic or one party having a massive change of heart, we’ll never know what that would have sounded like…

…but we’ll get kinda close, thanks to a trio of all-stars who have dubbed themselves Beloved Ghouls: Lombardo, Holt, and Sepultura frontman Derrick Green. Their first (and only?) single, “Terrorized,” was recorded with producer Ross Robinson back when Lombardo and Holt were both still in Slayer (Lombardo was replaced by Bostaph in 2013). It’s being released now to benefit Save Our Stages, “a group of over 2,900 independent venues in 50 states and Washington D.C. that are banding together to ask Washington for targeted legislation to help us survive.”

Says Holt about the song:

“So everyone, check this out! Eight full years ago, myself, Dave Lombardo and Derrick Green got together with Ross Robinson and made some music. It sat in the can this entire time, and was never used for its original purpose, but here it is!!

“Beloved Ghouls are proud to release this song, ‘Terrorized’ crushing spooky and the only time the four of us have released ANYTHING together!! And ALL proceeds go to save our stages! Check this shit out!! It’s bad ass, and for a great cause!!!!”

Adds Robinson:

“Beloved Ghouls are all lifers who live to give back to the music that gave us all so much. Hopefully this track resonates for you like it did for each of us while making it. Just laughing and being fully stoked while swimming in our thrash metal roots… we are all excited to donate to Save Our Stages, it’s such an important cause. We must work to keep our music venues alive.”

Concludes Green:

“It brought me an over whelming amount of joy to collaborate with friends and colleagues who I have great admiration for to create such a kick ass song. Truly a remarkable experience that I’m thankful to be a part of.”

You can listen to “Terroized” below. It features a cameo by Touché Amore vocalist Jeremy Bolm. The track will go on sale at midnight EST tonight at this link.
