Watch Corey Taylor and Clown’s Sons Perform in Their Band Vended

0

This past weekend was a crowded one for livestreams, with Metallica, Mastodon and Blood Incantation (via the Adult Swim Fest), and Pulse Of The Maggots Fest (hosted by hard-hitting journalistic outpost Knotfest.com) all competing for attention.

If you chose to tune in to Pulse of the Maggots Fest, which featured a number of smaller up-and-coming metal bands (a worthwhile endeavor, to be sure, even as we josh about Knotfest.com), you were treated to a performance by Vended, the band featuring vocalist Griffin Taylor and drummer Simon Crahan, the sons of Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor and percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan, respectively. The outfit, who performed their first headlining show back in March, had to wait quite a while for their second, but the band put on quite a show, as you’ll see below. Both visually and aurally, the Slipknot influence is palpable but not overbearing; you can plainly tell the band were heavily inspired by members of Slipknot, but they’re not straight-up Slipknot clones. It’s the kind of thing you expect to evolve as they experiment, grow and find their own identities.

Have a look at Vended’s ten-minute set below.
