Queensryche’s Todd La Torre Posts Another New Solo Track, “Vanguards of the Dawn Wall”

Darkened Majesty,” the debut solo track from Queensryche vocalist Todd La Torre, was an absolute ripper — way heavier than it had any right to be — a mix of old-school and new school that combines the best parts of thrash and heavy metal from different eras.

His latest,”Vanguards of the Dawn Wall,” proves that the first single was no anomaly: this one goes hard too! If there are still any Todd La Torre doubters left in the world who believe he’s not capable of filling Geoff Tate’s shoes in Queensryche — which he’s been doing admirably for over eight years now, by the way — this cut should be the final nail in their coffin.

La Torre offers of the track:

“‘Vanguards of the Dawn Wall’ is a full throttle thrasher! We wanted a no nonsense fast paced shredder, with intense guitar riffs, solos, drum work, and vocals. This song was inspired by a few different documentaries surrounding two particular near insurmountable feats of rock climbing. While initially written about those achievements, this song is really meant to represent and embody this very special breed and the spirit of all climbing.”
