Release of Liquid Tension Experiment’s LTE3 Delayed Three Weeks

Liquid Tension Experiment fans have had to wait more than twenty years for a new release from the band.

Now it looks like they’re gonna hafta wait a few weeks more: the prog supergroup’s new album, LTE3, will now be released on April 16 instead of March 26.

The news comes from drummer Mike Portnoy (Winery Dogs, ex-Dream Theater), who blames “printing errors by the manufacturer” for the delay:

“Good News & Bad News:

“Bad news first: Due to printing errors by the manufacturer we have the unfortunate news of sharing that we must push back the planned release date of LTE3 from March 26th to April 16th. This news came as a surprise to us and we have spent the last week working to resolve the situation but ultimately we had no other options. We appreciate the support and feedback so far on the songs we have released and can’t wait for you to finally hear the full album when it’s released on 4/16/21. We’ve all waited 22 years for this, what’s 3 more weeks? Better LaTE than never! ????

“Now some Good news: In the meantime, we hope you’ll enjoy another look at the LTE band interview included in the deluxe box-set and Blu-ray art-book, this time on the recent single ‘Beating the Odds.’”

Three weeks isn’t a super-duper-long amount of time, but still… yikes. I bet whoever made that printing boo-boo got chewed out pretty bad, yeah?

You can watch the video to which Portnoy is referring below.

Liquid Tension Experiment — which also includes guitarist John Petrucci (Dream Theater, purveyor of fine beard grooming products), keyboardist Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater, faculty at Hogwarts), and bassist Tony Levin (King Crimson) — has previously released the LTE3 singles “The Passage of Time” and the aforementioned “Beating the Odds.” You can pre-order the album here.
