New Black Label Society Album Will “Probably Come Out in November,” Says Zakk Wylde; Band Shares Reworked “House of Doom”

As they say in Boston, “Zakk Wylde is a workah.” Sure, he may not be part of the new Ozzy albumagain — but 2021 is still looking to be a big, big year for the guitarist. Black Label Society just released a massive, career-spanning, box set, None More Black, that comes with something like a small child’s weight worth of vinyls… and they’re aiming to release a new album before 2021 is through.

Wylde tells Detroit’s WRIF:

“During the COVID, obviously, [we worked on] the None More Black box set, and then we also tracked about 30 songs. So we’ve got that. We’re just putting the finishing touches on some stuff right now. We’re gonna be mastering that in a little bit. So it’ll probably come out in November.”

He also revealed that the band will tour the U.S. in the fall:

“[W]e’re doing [the] Sturgis [motorcycle rally] with Black Label. That’s in August. And then in all of October and November, we’re gonna be going around the States. And then we’re doing a Black Label Christmas-New Year’s Eve, and we end up with the Arizona chapter. That’s what’s on the agenda for now. Hopefully everybody has the shot and then we can all have everything back to normal again, and we can start doing tours again.”

I especially like the part where he says “Hopefully everybody has the shot” because YOU SHOULD GO GET VACCINATED AS SOON AS YOU’RE ABLE TO DO SO!!!!!!!!!

In related news,  Black Label Society have also premiered the official music video for the reworked version of “House of Doom” that appears on the aforementioned None More Black box set. You can check out the clip below. The song originally appeared on Hangover Music Vol. VI (2004). This might be blasphemy but I think I actually prefer the new version; it’s real purdy!

The None More Black box set is out now on eOne. Get it here. Remember if you live in a walk-up to hire a Task Rabbit to help you get the goddamn thing up the steps, ’cause it’s as big as a couch.
