George Lynch Unveils New Solo Track, “Death By a Thousand Licks”

“Death By a Thousand Licks,” the first single from George Lynch’s upcoming solo album, does not have a thousand licks; I had the MetalSucks Mansion monkeys count. But it is an absolute scorcher of a song with a helluva lotta riffs and guitar acrobatics, and fans of Lynch’s work in Dokken, Lynch Mob and his solo career should be delighted to learn that he still hasn’t lost a step.

The track comes from Lynch’s next album, Seamless, which comes out on August 20 via Rat Pak Records and can be pre-ordered here.

Lynch has joined Dokken for a handful of live gigs this summer for the first time since a quick run of Japan in 2016, which in turn was the first time he and namesake Don Dokken had played live together since 1990. In April, Lynch indicated that tour dates for Dokken’s reunited, “classic” line-up — consisting of him, Don Dokken, bassist Jeff Pilson, and drummer Mick Brown — have been booked. Specific details have yet to be announced.
