Vended, Featuring Corey Taylor and Clown’s Sons, Post New Single, “Burn My Misery”

Vended, the band featuring Simon Crahan, son of Shawn “Clown” Crahan, and Griffin Taylor, son of Corey Taylor, have released a new song called “Burn My Misery,” the second single from their forthcoming debut EP, What Is It/Kill It.

Let’s just get this right out front: Vended sound a whole lot like Slipknot. That’s not surprising, but there’s also nothing wrong with it given they’re still teenagers doing their best to emulate their heroes, just as we all did in bands at that age, while trying to apply their own unique spin. And they’re doing a fine job of it, for what it’s worth. That said, “Burn My Misery” is a more solid song than its predecessor, “Asylum.” It’s simply better constructed, more memorable, more dynamic, and it’s absolutely catchier. Maybe Vended’s calling card going forward as they discover themselves is to dial down the aggression slightly in favor of big choruses like on this tune or, say, “Duality.”

Give “Burn My Misery” a spin below. What Is It/Kill It arrives on November 12.
