Video: Marty Friedman + Members of Deafheaven, Kylesa, Uncle Acid, Etc. Cover David Bowie

The crew at Two Minutes to Late Night are back with their latest cover video, and jeez, while I am continually impressed with the quality of talent they’re able to get to participate in these, I think they may have outdone themselves once and for all with Marty Friedman! 2MTLN have had some incredible guests these past two (!) years, but getting Friedman feels like an extra-special coup given that a) he lives in Japan, b) is notoriously selective about what he participates in, c) he went above and beyond for this one, filming himself performing all over Tokyo. I. LOVE. IT!

The other musicians on this cover — a rendition of David Bowie’s “Station to Station” — are certainly no slouches either, but where do you go after Marty friggin’ Friedman?? Those are guitarist Laura Pleasants (ex-Kylesa, The Discussion), bassist Chris Johnson (Deafheaven, Doomriders), drummer John “Charn” Rice (Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, ex-Job For A Cowboy), and keyboardist Emily Lee (Shearwater, Loma, Snake Oil, Droneflower) alongside 2MTLN proprietor Jordan Olds (aka Gwarsenio Hall).

Give it a watch below.
