Amorphis Drop Rollicking New Track “On The Dark Waters”

0

Back in November, Finnish metal legends Amorphis announced their 14th studio album Halo, to be delivered Februrary 11th. Now, the band have dropped another single from that record, “On The Dark Waters,” and damn, it’s a lot of fun.

What’s especially rad about “On The Dark Waters” is its momentum. The previous single from the record, “The Moon,” had more of a proggy, mid-paced kind of stumble-step rhythm to it (in a good way, for the record). This one, meanwhile, gallops straight ahead, and uses awesome descending moments and minor chords to add a lot of drive to the track. It’s definitely a song you can imagine listening to while whipping your horse from a canter into a gallop (don’t like, you wish you had a fuckin’ horse).

And the video? Them playing metal in the snow. Yeah, it’s everything you want from these dudes.
