Spiritbox Test Positive for COVID-19, Will Miss Upcoming Tour Dates

0

Look, if a major member of a band’s touring party tests positive for COVID, the whole band has it. Not literally, obviously, but for all intents and purposes, if a member of a band or their crew who is vital tests positive mid-tour, that artist either needs to go through a relatively rigorous testing process and find a replacement fast, or they gotta miss some dates. That’s just the way of things in 2022. So it’s understandable that Spiritbox, a young act who are finding their sea legs (fast and impressively, for the record), have to miss some of their upcoming shows with Underoath because a member of their crew has COVID.

Here’s what the band said in a post on their Facebook:

“Due to a positive case in the Spirtbox touring party we will be following the CDC recommended guidelines and taking the next few days off to isolate and recover. We hope to resume the tour as soon as possible. We are so sorry to the fans but we do appreciate your understanding.”

Sucks, but we totally get it. The band are young and up-and-coming, and the guidelines imposed by tours and venues these days are super strict. Not only that, but there’s fan and touring party health considerations to take into account.

While we don’t know how many dates the band will miss, here are the remaining shows on the tour as-is. Everyone at MetalSucks wishes Spiritbox a speedy recovery. We like this band, we hope they figure it out.
