Video: Rivers of Nihil Get the SHREDS Treatment

0

Spoiler: 90% of what you see and hear from great metal bands is all behind-the-scenes magic. Anyone who’s ever been to a real metal show can tell you that the videos and we get served on the damned Internet are bullshit, and that a band’s true talent lies in the moment they perform live. Now, one brave YouTuber has captured far-out death metallers Rivers of Nihil in their true glory, and let me tell you, shit SHREDS.

As you’ll see in the video below, YouTube hero eightfootmanchild managed to capture how Rivers of Nihil actually sounded at their appearance in Kerrang!‘s concert series from back when the magazine had a U.S. office (run by some real deadbeats, too). As you’ll see, the band take their experimentalism to a new level, trying out non-Euclidian rhythms, Real McCoy-esque synth accents, and, as frontman Jake Dieffenbach says, “PHILOSOPHICAL CONCEPTS.” That, plus the occasional crowd-surfer, give you insight into who this band really IS, you know? The REAL Rivers of Nihil, and not some insane viral video bullshit.
