Exclusive Video Premiere: Warforged Get Stupid High (Literally) In “Bliss Joined to the Bane”

0

Right now, Chicago’s Warforged are on the road alongside a stacked line-up of Rivers of Nihil, Fallujah, and Alluvial. And listening to the band, it’s very clear that fans who go to those shows will leave as big fans of these dudes. Not only do Warforged make thick, hard-hitting progressive death metal, they also do so with a good-natured sense of humor. To grasp this, one only has to check out our premiere of their new video “Bliss Joined to the Bane” below.

The beauty of the “Bliss…” video is it takes a really simple but funny concept and runs with it. Throughout the video, the band also have a good time — drummer Jason Nitts cramming his beard into his mouth is especially endearing — but its the central joke that keeps the whole thing feeling rad throughout. It also helps that “Bliss Joined to the Bane” is a real gut-puncher of a track.

Says the band:

“’Bliss Joined to the Bane’ represents the human relationship with substances as your best friend and your worst enemy. Finding pleasure in the pain by using the things that sometimes destroy us to find a little bit of peace at the end of the day, we think some of you might be able to relate with us here.”

Check out “Bliss Joined to the Bane” below. Warforged’s new album The Grove / Sundial drops September 9th, and is available for preorder. Scroll down for the tracklisting and cover art.
