Gojira Guitarist Christian Andreu Leaves Deftones Tour Early to Be With His Newborn Son

0

Leaving a tour early — especially a big, high-profile tour — is never easy. That said, Gojira guitarist Christian Andreu has left the band’s current North American trek with Deftones for the best reason imaginable: to meet his son for the first time!

Yup, according to the following post from Gojira, Christian had to bail on the tour in order to meet his first son. Replacing Christian will be Aldrick Guadagnino of the band Klone, who, they note, not only is a great musician, but looks a lot of like Christian. We wonder if they could’ve just not even said anything?

Here’s Gojira’s statement:

“Christian returned home to be present with his first newborn child and so Aldrick Guadagnino of Klone @kloneband stepped up to the plate and killed it! He will be with us until the end of this tour. Somehow we managed to find a French man that shreds the guitar and looks exactly like Christian!!! 😱 #gojira #klone #deftones #vowws #washington Also… massive shout out to our buddies of @vowwsband that couldn’t make it today. Come back soon!!!”

From all of us at MetalSucks, congrats to Christian! Being a parent is the coolest thing in the fucking world, even if you occasionally wonder how you could ever be this tired. Good luck, and remember: Aquaphor.
