A Dead Body Was Found In the Parking Lot of a My Chemical Romance Show This Weekend

According to MK Citizen, Milton Keynes police discovered a dead body in the Milton Keynes Bowl parking lot on Saturday night, which was being used for that night’s My Chemical Romance show at MK Stadium.

It’s not clear how the cops were made aware of the body, but concertgoers reported that police showed up on the scene around 8:30 PM, closing off part of a nearby street until the early hours of Sunday morning, May 22.

Witnesses also reported that forensic officers were on scene and that intensive searches of the area were conducted. It appears that the police did not find anything incriminating in their search, as they later issued a statement noting that the death is being treated as unexplained but unsuspicious. Concertgoers said that they were stuck in the parking lot until 10:30 PM, when the show ended.

It was later confirmed that the body discovered was male. A cause of death, and how the body was found, have not yet been revealed.

My Chemical Romance played another show in Milton Keynes on May 22, the band’s third in a row in the city. Ironically, at each of the three shows, singer Gerard Way displayed a fan-made banner, which you can see below, with the names of My Chemical Romance fans who planned to attend the reunion but passed away before the shows went down. The flag bore the names of the deceased along with the message, “Your memory will carry on,” a reference to the title track from My Chemical Romance’s triple-platinum The Black Parade album.

The presence of a dead body at a My Chem show may increase the band’s kvlt standing along with the band’s decision to include Satanic metal punks Devil Master as an opener on multiple US tour dates.

My Chemical Romance recently released single “The Foundations of Decay,” the band’s first piece of original music since 2010.
