Long Lost Motörhead Promo Video for Iron Fist Remastered and Released

0

The early 80s were a hell of a time for musicians trampling the countryside cosplaying as badass knights. We already know Dio was a big fan and black metal bands were already looking menacing in the woods, but know who else enjoyed a good saunter through the forest waving swords around? Motörhead.

Yep. In 1982, Lemmy, “Fast” Eddie Clarke, and Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor once donned black armor, brandished medieval swords, and wore horned helmets in a Hertfordshire forest in support of their then brand new record, Iron Fist.

Originally planned to be used as an intro video for the band to play before they took the stage, the clip had since vanished from official channels, usually ending up on bootleg tapes over the years. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Iron Fist however, the original clip has been remastered and released online for the first time and you can check it out below.

Originally set to Gustav Holst’s “Mars, Bringer of War,” the new clip features a previously unreleased instrumental demo of “Ripsaw Teardown.”

In celebration of Iron Fist and its 40th anniversary, hardback book packs for both two CD and three LP formats will be available. In both cases, a remastered version of the album will come with previously unreleased demo bonus tracks and the March 18, 1982 full concert originally broadcast on Radio Clyde. A special blue and black swirl version of the original standalone album will also be available.

Iron Fist (Expanded Edition) will be released on September 23, though you can preorder a copy for yourself today.
