Michael Angelo Batio to Bring Far Too Many Guitar Necks to Manowar’s 2023 Tour

Guitar virtuoso and dude who can barely see the many necks of his guitars because of the shaggy mop covering his eyes, Michael Angelo Batio, is joining Manowar on their upcoming string of tour dates next year.

Fans of the band that loves to write songs about heavy metal were left wondering what was next for the band after Evandro “EV” Martel walked away from the band’s touring responsibilities for “personal reasons.”

“Manowar, their crew, along with all the Manowarriors around the world have been really great to me from the moment I came onboard. I could not be more thankful for the good times we have shared.”

As of late, Manowar’s had a bit of a problem with keeping guitarists around after now ex-guitarist Karl Logan faced conviction for possession of child pornography. But that’s all in the past — at least temporarily — as Batio steps up to fill the empty role.

“I could not be more excited! I love metal more than anything, and it doesn’t get more metal than Manowar! I can’t wait to get on stage and play for the Manowar fans!”

According to bassist Joey DeMaio, Batio’s addition to the band adds an “astounding” element to the classic heavy metal band.

“We’ve known Michael for many years and have always admired his work. His technique is astounding. When we invited him to come and jam with us, we played together at the speed of light. Everything fell into place immediately. We’re ready for a killer tour!”

Earlier this summer, Manowar released an EP titled Highlights from the Revenge of Odysseus. Other than that, they haven’t had a full-length studio effort since their 2014 release, Kings of Metal MMXIV.

Since this is being billed as just Batio filling in to help the band meet their touring requirements next year, it’s unlikely that he’ll stick around to help record their next album, if there is one in the works.

If you want to see Manowar with Michael Angelo Batio live and in person, you’re going to need to head to the band’s website for any upcoming tour dates.
