Steve-O Pleads with Bam Margera to “Choose Recovery” After Apparent Relapse on Tour

In a super sad turn of events, it looks like MTV badboy and the “Britney Spears of JackassBam Margera has fallen back off the wagon. Only this time, he did it while receiving a second chance from his buddy and fellow Jackass alum, Steve-O.

Last month, Margera revealed on a recent episode of Steve O’s Wildride Podcast that he was nearly pronounced dead after contracting COVID-19, getting a severe case of pneumonia, and falling into multiple seizures as a result. During that episode, he outlined his efforts to get better and seek sobriety, not just for himself, but to be able to spend more time with his son.

In an effort to help, Steve-O offered to take him on tour as his comedy opener. It was described as a way to help him find another creative avenue while sharing his story with fans. Well, sadly it turns out things went sideways as Steve-O revealed in a now deleted social media comment that Bam is back on the wrong path again.

“Bam, last night you had your five-year-old son with you on stage at my show, and you were blessed with the chance to spend another day or two with him — then as soon as you left my show, you stayed up all night getting loaded.

“You say you want to have a relationship with your son, but your actions guarantee the exact opposite will happen. I brought you on tour with me in hopes that I could get you to see what’s possible for you if you choose recovery. I’ve tried everything I can but I can’t force you to get honest and do the work of recovery.

“I wish you could know how much I’ve hated feeling braced for news of your death, but you’re making it clear that I have no other choice,” he continued. “You’re dying, brother, and it sucks that I can’t do anything to save you.”

The comment was apparently in response to a post on Bam Margera’s alternate Instagram account where he thanked Steve-O for being a good friend on one hand and crushed Johnny Knoxville by calling him a “poser” and a “pro creation thief.” He also trash talked Jeff Tremaine in the post.

Obviously, Steve-O’s upset by what happened. Margera managed to spend a year getting sober in 2022, but has struggled to remain that way. As a recovering addict himself, it has to be hard to know how badly Bam’s fucking up and how deadly the repercussions can be. We don’t know what Bam’s current status is, but if Steve-O’s worried, maybe fans should be concerned as well.
