Exhumed Drop 25th Anniversary Edition of Gore Metal, Physical Versions Coming Soon
A quarter of a century is one hell of a milestone. So naturally when Exhumed‘s Gore Metal hit the ol’ two-five, it only made sense that the band would announce — and release — a remastered version of the 1998 album.
Available now on streaming platforms, this new version of Gore Metal features a fully remastered version of the original mix by Arthur Rizk, whose previous credits include Kreator, Cavalera, and Power Trip. In addition to the new mix, the album also features expanded artwork, live tracks found only on the digital version, and liner notes.
Frontman Matt Harvey said the new edition was coming at the right time for the band.
“Like a lingering recurrent infection, this album just keeps rearing its ugly head. Twenty-five years is a long time for a record this raw, nasty, crude and repugnant to hang around, so what better time would there be than now to reissue it on vinyl? The re-master has breathed new life into these dusty old tracks and the record has never sounded better. I hope you necromaniacs are as excited about this as we are, because we have a bunch of plans around this reissue and anniversary in the works. If you’ve been hoping for a chance to hear some deep cuts and (slaughter) cult classicks… your patience will soon be rewarded.”
Exhumed are currently out on tour with Cavalera until October 18. The full list of dates can be found below. They’re also playing the inaugural Metal Injection Festival this weekend in the Anaheim area, so be sure to check that out.
As for the remixed version of Gore Eternal, preorders are currently open for the physical edition, which will be in people’s hands by October 27. Just know that the physical edition won’t come with those live songs included.
