Baroness’ John Baizley Has a Hot Take About Korn’s Longevity

0

Looking back on nu-metal, it can be easy for us older metalheads to question why that whole subgenre ever took off in the first place. After all, from the outside it just looked like the top bands were a buncha white dudes appropriating urban sounds over heavy riffs while complaining about their “fucked up childhoods.” Detractors were abound back then and there are certainly people who don’t get why that whole thing’s seeing a resurgence today.

Such was the case for Baroness frontman John Baizley — or rather, that used to be the case until he personally witnessed an absolutely “un-fuck-with-able” festival performance by none other than Bakersfield, California’s nu-metal pioneers Korn.

John’s “hot take” on the band and their longevity in the music business came about while we played board games with him and guitarist Gina Gleason while chatting about Baroness’ new album Stone, which you should definitely check out.

Stone is available anywhere you get your music via Abraxan Hymns. Baroness is also scheduled to go on a big ass tour, which you can also check out below.
