Year of the Knife Announce New Album by Releasing Two Singles Featuring Full Of Hell and Sanguisugabogg Vocalists

Fans of hardcore outfit Year of the Knife got a special treat yesterday, as the band not only released a single featuring Full Of Hell vocalist Dylan Walker, but they also dropped a second single featuring Sanguisugabogg vocalist Devin Swank.

The tracks, titled “Wish” and “Last Laugh” are prime Year Of The Knife goodness, featuring fast, brutal blast beats, oppressive guitar and bass work, and devastating vocal work by Madi Watkins and the tracks’ respective guests.

The two tracks are part of their new album No Love Lost coming out on October 27. According to the band, the new studio effort will clock in at around 20 minutes and will feature nine new tracks.

It’s been a difficult few months for Year of the Knife. Back in June, the band was involved in a serious accident while traveling from Utah to Colorado when their touring van collided with an 18 wheeler. Everyone in the band was injured in the accident, with Aaron Kisielewski and Andrew Kisielewski both sustaining fractured legs and other trauma and Brandon Watkins sustaining a concussion.

Sadly, vocalist Madi Watkins took the brunt of the damage, sustaining significant injuries that left her in critical condition and facing a long road to recovery. Though regular updates from her husband and Year Of The Knife guitarist Brandon Watkins show significant progress from the band’s vocalist, things are still going one day at a time.

Regarding the new album, drummer Andrew Kisielewski said it wasn’t an easy decision to put out a record, given their current state.

“It’s hard to say when we’ll be back in full swing, but for now we couldn’t be more excited to share this with everyone. In approaching writing, it was an unspoken consensus that our new lineup opened the door to evolve our sound even further. The overall dynamic, individual influences, and equal contribution between the four of us birthed something beyond anything we’ve done before. This record is the perfect culmination of us. It’s everything we wanna play, it’s everything we wanna hear, it’s 20 solid minutes of nothing but pure YOTK. To say I love this thing is an understatement, and I hope at least one of you finds a love for it the same way we do.”

Ever since the accident, fans and musicians from other bands have put up nearly $253,000 for the band’s recovery fund on GoFundMe. All of the funds will go toward paying any medical bills the members have to pay back, as well as help keep them afloat financially. If you can contribute at all, definitely consider doing so.

Profits from the album’s sales will go directly to the band’s recovery efforts.

We at MetalSucks continue to wish the best for Madi Watkins and the rest of Year of the Knife as they navigate this difficult time.
