E-Town Concrete Frontman Lost a Million Dollars in New Jersey Real Estate Scheme

There’s an old saying that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. There’s also the saying that “if you have been in a poker game for a while, and you still don’t know who the patsy is, you’re the patsy.” Both of those statements probably would have helped E-Town Concrete vocalist Anthony Martini at some point, as news has come out that he lost a million dollars in a New Jersey real estate scheme.

According to a recent report by NBC 4 New York, Martini apparently invested a million dollars into an apartment project in Paterson, New Jersey. He, along with another investor Anthony Barone, recently filed a lawsuit against real estate influencers Cesar Piña and his wife Jennifer Piña, as well as Power 105.1 personality DJ Envy for allegedly committing fraud.

Apparently, the scam involved pitching both Martini and Barone on investing in the Taylor Apartments. Martini apparently put up a million dollars of his own money into the project. Barone invested half a million for a stake in the property, at which point the Piñas forged Martini’s signature to get that deal done.

While he only (we say sarcastically) lost a million dollars, the total that folks had invested in the company was over $40 million, which could mean big trouble if Piña and co. are found guilty of illicit dealings. To make things even messier, DJ Envy is filing a defamation lawsuit against TonytheCloser, the influencer and real estate scam watchdog that called him out.

To top it all off, more suits are coming out against the real estate scheme daily, and a bankruptcy court trustee has been assigned to over see the properties that were part of the alleged scheme. Hopefully, some assets can be sold off so people can get their investments back.

While E-Town Concrete may be cringe, no one deserves to lose their ass on a bad real estate deal in new Jersey. The full NBC4 New York report, including the interview with Martini, is below.
