Last Batch of Dates Added to Primus, Puscifer, A Perfect Circle Tour
Even though they’re months out from the start of their ‘Sessanta Tour,’ the three-headed monster of Primus, Puscifer, and A Perfect Circle are once again adding more dates to their already solid itinerary.
Described as a sort of 60th birthday celebration for vocalist Maynard James Keenan, the ‘Sessanta Tour’ will now kick off on April 2 in Boston, Massachusetts and come to an end at Forest Hills Stadium in Forest Hills, New York on May 4, though some of those dates are already sold out.
Primus’ Les Claypool said the fact that the tour was a celebration of Keenan was one of the more important parts of the whole affair, as the vocalist’s irreplaceable talents deserve being celebrated.
“What a glorious notion of combining three bands that all start with the letter ‘P’ for a tribute to Maynard Keenan’s 60th trip around the sun. I’ve known Maynard for more than three decades and I have to say, I’ve yet to meet a more creative, ambitious and industrious human being; that is assuming he is actually human. Often his perspective and output are more ‘extraterrestrial’ than that of this planet so, It wouldn’t surprise me if he has some sort of ‘Prometheus’ type DNA deep in his marrow.”
For those that didn’t get to see the first ‘Sessanta’ show in Los Angeles back in 2014, the really cool thing about this tour is that all three bands will be on stage at the same time for parts of their sets. Given the fact that Keenan is involved in two out of the three bands on the bill, at least that part should be somewhat manageable.
