Chicago Record Stores Robbed, Metal and Hardcore Records Stolen

In what was surely a massive blow to already struggling underground shops, several record stores were robbed in Chicago last week, and rare hardcore and metal records were stolen.

The break-ins happened at Meteor Gem, Signal Records, and Reckless Records. Rare vinyl and box sets went missing, and Meteor Gem claim they were robbed in the evening when the perpetrator broke a window.

Now, Chicago record stores are calling other shops and local traders to be on the lookout for the missing records.

The albums missing from Meteor Gem are as follows, and reads like a must-listen metal list. The thief obviously had good taste but horrible morals. As the Tweets below also show, the robbers picked the wrong underground community to mess with, as other stores have already started to track the stolen purchases.
