KK’s Priest Released a Music Video for “Sons of the Sentinel”

Sure, their whole schtick relies on the fact that three of their five members are ex-Judas Priest members, but damn it if KK’s Priest don’t put out some good old fashioned heavy metal that stands up on its own. Earlier today, the band dropped a music video for their latest single, “Sons of the Sentinel,” off their most recent record The Sinner Rides Again.

Like the band’s other singles, this one continues to hammer home the fact that K.K. Downing can still write a classic metal riff. It drives with a constant push forward, as the rhythm section holds shit down and vocalist Tim “Ripper” Owens soars above the mix. If you liked “Ripper” era Priest, you’re gonna love this.

As you might have gleaned from the song’s title, this new track is linked somewhat to the story that was told in Judas Priest’s 1984 banger “The Sentinel” off of Defenders of the Faith. It’s actually the third part of the story, since the band left off with “Return of the Sentinel” from their 2021 album Sermons of the Sinner. To clarify all that lore, K.K. Downing laid it all out.

“Following the epic ‘Return Of The Sentinel’, it was inevitable that this sequel would evolve. The history of these intergalactic mercenaries has to justifiably continue as long as there is metal in our veins.

“It was with great sorrow that our first great father, and warlord, met his demise upon his return, but the powers of those that would be have initiated an even more powerful force to be the protectors of the entire universe. Though – heed the warning – you must always beware to never stand in their way because they are a force that are like no other and have never been seen before! They are The ‘Sons Of The Sentinel’.”

Now that you’re all caught up, you can check out the music video below. At this moment, the band only have a few festival dates planned for 2024, though who knows what their live schedule will look like later. For now, you can check out their planned dates below.
