The Dillinger Escape Plan Add a Second Reunion Show (UPDATE: And Now There’s A THIRD)

0

(Update: The Dillinger Escape Plan aren’t done adding dates, apparently. There’s now a third one on June 23 at the Brooklyn Paramount.)

The nostalgia train ain’t stopping because it’s got no brakes. If you’re worried that the previously announced reunion show of The Dillinger Escape Plan featuring O.G. vocalist Dmitri Minakakis to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Calculating Infinity would be a one-and-done affair, rest a little easier, as they’ve just added a second show to their itinerary.

You may recall that yesterday the band announced their reunion would take place on June 21 at the Brooklyn Paramount in Brooklyn, New York. Well, thanks to what should be absolutely nuclear demand, the band opted to tack on another show at the same venue on the following day, June 22.

As of 2:30 p.m. today, the band added a THIRD show, still at the Brooklyn Paramount, on June 23. They’re still playing the entirety of Calculating Infinity.

As previously revealed, the band will play the entirety of Calculating Infinity during both shows for the first time ever in the band’s history. Along with Minakakis, DEP will be comprised of founding guitarist Ben Weinman, as well as bassist Liam Wilson and drummer Billy Rymer.

While the first show will feature Car Bomb and Candy as the openers, the second night features some hard hitters with The Callous Daoboys and Deadguy throwing down. For the third date, they’ll have all four openers on hand.

Speaking of the upcoming shows, Minakakis said he was ridiculously stoked to return to those songs in 2024.

“It’s been a long time coming for this opportunity to perform in a project I helped create over 25 years ago. Having the chance to celebrate 25 years of Calculating Infinity with my closest friends in life is just a dream turned real. I’m looking forward to seeing all the old faces, as well as all the new ones. The Dillinger Escape Plan has always been more than just a band. We were a force of nature. This reunion show is our way of thanking the fans who have stood by us and the album we made in a small basement in NJ all those years ago.”

Tickets are currently available through various pre-sales, with the general public getting a crack at ’em this Friday, December 15 at 10 a.m. EST. That being said, this is the internet in 2023, so some tickets already exist on StubHub, so if you want to absolutely secure your place now, you can do so following this link.
