For My Pain… Get Back Together After 20 Years

0

Gothic metallers For My Pain…, who have been inactive for about 20 years, announced their comeback following their debut album, Fallen, so many years ago.

Back then, the band were building up some interest due to their atmospheric, melodic, and haunting quality, but then they disappeared from public view for quite some time, making folks wonder if there was going to be any more music from For My Pain…, or if they were calling it quits. Their Killing Romance EP in 2004 was the last piece of music to see the light of day.

The Finnish band is currently made up of founding members bassist Altti Veteläinen (Eternal Tears Of Sorrow, ex-Kalmah) and guitarist Lauri Tuohimaa (ex-Maple Cross), vocalist Juha Kylmänen, guitarist Olli-Pekka Törrö (ex-Andromeda, ex-Eternal Tears Of Sorrow), drummer Ari-Matti Pohjola, and keyboardist Marco Sneck (Afterworld, The Man-Eating Tree).

The original lineup also featured Tuomas Holopainen of Nightwish and Petri Sankala, formerly of Eternal Tears of Sorrow and Kalmah, on drums, but now those members have moved on from the project.

However, they’ve now surprised everyone by not only coming back, but announcing that there will be more to come from the project. Kylmänen shares:

“The original atmosphere, which made leaves wither from the trees, is here again. Are you ready for the beautiful world with black and grey tones only?”

In addition to announcing they will be putting out new music, For My Pain… are also planning a tour and will be kicking off their official comeback to live music with a show on may 3 at Kantakrouvi in Oulu, Finland.

We can’t wait to hear what the new year has in store from the band and where their tour decides to take them.
