David Ellefson Plays a Cop in This Weird Comedy Horror Flick Called Bunker Heights

0

Look, everyone! Ex-Megadeth bassist David Ellefson is in a film that he’s actually consented to having plastered all over the internet. (Sorry, couldn’t help myself.)

Unshackled from all the commitments that go with being in one of the biggest thrash metal bands of all time, Ellefson’s had a lot more time focusing on other projects, including other bands, doing voice over work, and in this case, executive producing and appearing in a “genre-bending farce” called Bunker Heights.

The trailer, which dropped yesterday, outlines a story in which a once-normal city and its citizens are racked with catastrophe as a “looming threat that jeopardizes their very existence” carves a path through everything. And while that sounds like it would be a straight up horror or thriller synopsis, the folks behind the movie say it blends crime, horror, and dark comedy elements to create something all its own.

Written and directed by Drew Fortier under the production of Hannah Fierman (V/H/S, Dark Circles, Siren), the movie was apparently filmed in secret with a budget of only $30,000. So if it’s good, it’s got a lot of chance to make some serious cash. If it sucks? Well, you’re only out $30k. I mean, it’s gotta be better than any of the shit Danzig’s put out…… right?!

To his part, Ellefson apparently plays a cop in the movie and appears a couple times in the trailer below.

“It’s always such a pleasure working with Drew Fortier on any creative endeavour and his knack for making engaging horror films is second to none. I’m glad to be a part of this amazing new story.”

Looking at the cast, it also seems like Ellefson got some of his friends in on the action, as Violent J from Insane Clown Posse (who he’s collaborated with) and Vinnie Dombroski from his side project The Lucid are involved.

There’s no word as to when the movie will come out, nor do we know if it will actually ever hit theaters or go straight to DVD/Blu-Ray/whatever else the kids are using these days.
