Exclusive Premiere: NAG’s Explosive “Boys of Europe” is Norwegian Crust/Metal at Its Angriest

Norway may be the home of super serious black metal bands trudging through the wilderness for the perfect place to pose for pictures, but they’re not the only ones making loud, angry noises. And that fact can’t be any more evident than “Boys of Europe,” the latest single and title track of the new album from metallic punk trio NAG that you can check out below.

Six years after the 2018 release of their sophomore album Nagged to Death, the guys are back with a new slate of nostalgic crust punk/hardcore/metal sound that really just rears back and kicks you in the teeth. This ain’t our first rodeo with these guys, so we’re glad to hear their sound in 2024 still oozes the same anger and fury that we heard all those years ago.

According to the band, this track isn’t about some happy go lucky group of kids coming of age in Europe. As is with most punk-fueled outfits, this shit’s about war and strife in their back yard. With shit popping off in various places around the globe these days, it sounds like they’ve got a lot of inspiration for this one.

“The title itself is nicked from a Norwegian run-of-the-mill men’s clothing store franchise, but the song, of course, has a more ominous subject than menswear.

“Boys of Europe takes you on a brief and intense roller coaster ride through Europe’s history of strife and warfare. A history that clearly has not come to an end.”

Boys of Summer will be released on April 12, though you can check out and preorder your copy today.
