ACxDC Announce New Album, Share “Thot Police” Single

Powerviolence band ACxDC shared that they will be releasing their new record, G.O.A.T., via Prosthetic Records on April 26.

The Los Angeles grindcore legends shared the single “Thot Police” to give fans a taste of what’s to come with this record — and from what we can gather, what’s coming is heavy. They’ve also released two other songs to be streamed so far, “Goatcore” and “Vested Interest.”

G.O.A.T. was recorded by Taylor Young at The Pit Recording Studio and mastered by Brad Boatright.

The new single, “Thot Police,” takes on the issues that women, femmes, and nonbinary folks still face when they go to shows, something the band think should be a thing of the past.

The band say about the new single:

“‘Thot Police’ stems from overhearing people, as well as seeing online discourse, in relation to extreme music (hardcore, punk, power violence, metal, etc) STILL discussing female participants and attendees by the value of their body parts.

“Consistent comments on the value of women in bands and whether they’ve received their recognition based on their ‘hotness.’ Attacking the replication of mainstream values and norms in a music scene that for nearly five decades has confronted these attitudes and been comprised of women, femmes, non binary, and trans folks since it’s inception.”

The band’s sophomore album promises to be as heavy as their previous releases, if not more so, so don’t sleep on this one. Preorder the album here, and stay tuned for more music announcements coming soon.
