If Mike Tyson Kills Jake Paul in Upcoming Bout, Maynard James Keenan Partially to Blame

0

I know that headline’s a little much, but let’s get something out of the way — unless “Iron” Mike Tyson throws this fight for a bigger payout (which he doesn’t seem like he’d do that sort of thing) — YouTuber and boxer Jake Paul is in for a baaaad night. He’s only fought 10 times and while he’s 9-1, he’s mostly faced washed up and old MMA fighters. That’s not an even playing field on a couple levels.

Mike Tyson is a fucking animal.

All that being said, a portion of Tyson’s training apparently has to be attributed to Verde Valley BJJ, where Tool vocalist and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Maynard James Keenan trains. According to the frontman, not only did Tyson train at his home gym, but he was also there when the legendary boxer began his training camp for his July 20 fight against Paul. Keenan’s so stoked about it that he posted the above image on his Instagram page with the following note:

“Honored to have Mike Tyson grace our small town academy, Verde Valley BJJ. His Training Camp for Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson began under our roof. Gonna be bragging about that for a bit. Long after y’all are tired of hearing about it. Deal w it”

I’d brag about that shit too. Even though this will be Tyson’s fight in nearly two decades, the man is obviously still in shape and looks like he can still punch a hole through a brick wall. His footwork looks impeccable too. I just don’t see how a dude with just 10 pro fights to his name has any shot against a monster like Tyson.

The Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight will take place on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, but it will also be shown live on Netflix, so everyone will be able to watch the fruits of Tyson’s training.
