Check Out System of a Down Practicing “Cigaro” Ahead of Sick New World

We’re about 10 days out from this year’s Sick New World and as such, it only makes sense that bands would be gearing up for the show. Case and point is the following clip of System of a Down rehearsing “Cigaro,” off their 2005 album Mezmerize.

Taken from behind drummer John Dolmayan, the band sounds good, though I’m pretty sure Serj Tankian either isn’t there or just taking it easy on the vocals. The latter of which would make sense because you can see and hear Daron Malakian in the background.

Watching this reminds me that it’s such a bummer these guys can’t get past the bullshit and just work on new material. At least they have a couple live shows lined up for 2024 — not a whole tour, mind you — but they have Sick New World on April 27 and that special show with Deftones on August 17.

For the second year in a row, Sick New World is bringing a more nu metal festival experience back to the Las Vegas area. This time around, it’s a much bigger bill full of 72 bands across five stages. If your’e able to attend this year, here’s the full list:
