Help Venom Inc’s Mantas Recover from a Heart Attack by Donating to His GoFundMe Page

0

We recently reported that original member of Venom and current Venom Inc. guitarist Jeff “Mantas” Dunn was recovering at home in Portugal after suffering a second heart attack last month. At the time, he told fans in an Instagram post that he wasn’t going to be performing any time soon, as he really needed time to get back to 100%.

Unfortunately for the 63-year-old, that means he’s going to need help keeping afloat while on the mend. As such, a GoFundMe page has been created in a bid to raise €45,000 (or $48,729). And while a little over €2,500 has already been donated, Cradle of Filth’s Dani Filth shared the page on his social media, posting the following message of support for Mantas.

“Everyone, please read the following in regards to the legend that is Jeff Dunn, also known professionally as Mantas,” wrote Filth.

“Jeff Dunn, known to the world as Mantas of Venom, is a musical legend whose influence spans across the metal genre, and beyond. His innovative approach has brought us some of the most memorable riffs in metal music, often conceived in moments of everyday simplicity, including a famously inspired session in less than glamorous circumstances.

“Aside from his groundbreaking contributions to music, Jeff is a devoted caretaker to his 27 cats, whom he treats with royal regard, and a friend to many. His generosity and integrity shine through in all his interactions.

“Recently, Jeff’s life took an unexpected turn when he suffered a heart attack on the morning of April 17. Despite this frightening event, the swift response from medical professionals at Abrantes UCIC and later in Lisbon ensured he received the necessary care promptly. An angiogram revealed issues with two valves, leading to the immediate placement of two stents. Jeff is now recuperating at home, but his road to recovery will be long, and he will be unable to perform live for the foreseeable future.

“This campaign aims to support his medical expenses and recovery process. We reach out to all who have been touched by Jeff’s music, his story, and his spirit, to help in any way possible. Every donation, no matter the size, will significantly aid Jeff’s journey back to health.

“Thank you for considering support for Mantas as he heals. Together, we can ensure he continues to inspire and entertain us for many years to come.

“You, dear fiends, can contribute here and make a difference to this absolute Black Metal legend!”

Dunn had previously suffered a heart attack back in May 2018, after which he underwent a double bypass surgery. This new health issue is definitely not to be trifled with, so it makes sense that he’s taking the time to relax.

According to the GoFundMe page, all money raised will go to covering his medical expenses, as well as his recovery efforts. So if you have the means, please consider contributing to his GoFundMe page today.
