Watch: Slipknot Headline Rock am Ring Without Clown

0

Over the weekend, the annual Rock am Ring Festival kicked off in Nürburgring, Germany, with headline performances from Bring Me the Horizon, Rise Against, Korn and others. But one performance that stood out was Slipknot’s set. And that’s because they took the main stage on Saturday without band co-founder and long-time member, Shawn “Clown” Crahan.

At the start of their set, frontman Corey Taylor addressed the glaring absence, stating that some personal responsibilities back home kept him from making the trip.

“First things first, obviously you can see we are missing one of our brothers. Unfortunately, Clown can not be here, he is back home, taking care of his family. He wanted desperately to be here, but he sends his fucking love from America.

“Make some noise for Clown. Now we are here to make up for that. And by god, we’re going to do it.”

Following their performance at Rock am Ring, Slipknot are continuing their tour along the European summer festival circuit. That being said, there’s currently little information as to whether Crahan will join them for the rest of it.

You can find their remaining list of tour dates below.
