Sh*t That Comes Out Today: June 27, 2025
It’s been almost too hot to think for the last week. Thank god shit’s cooling down so I can enjoy the week’s new releases. Here’s to hoping you’re all staying comfortable enough this weekend to be able to do the same!
Botch
061524 (Sargent House)
Recorded 22 years to the day from their final show at the very same venue, this live album captures the revitalization of a math-laced hardcore staple. It’s explosive and a prime example of why if you have a chance to catch ’em live, you absolutely owe it to yourself to do so. It’s also being released with the full-length concert film of the same name. Just a heads up.

Deadguy
Near-Death Travel Services (Relapse Records)
Yet another revived act featured on this week’s list. Deadguy released their debut album Fixation on a Coworker back in 1995. Thirty years later, they’re dropping their second full-length in Near-Death Travel Services. These guys were at the forefront of metalcore, so it’s great to hear them contribute to a genre they helped pioneer that’s since grown to a massive scene. The old dogs still got it.

Heaven Shall Burn
Heimat (Century Media)
German metalcore outfit Heaven Shall Burn are back with their 10th full-length album. Jam-packed full of heavy-hitters, this release should please long-time fans. Songs like “My Revocation Of Compliance” and “Those Left Behind” hit particularly hard.

Inhuman Condition
Mind Trap (Listenable Insanity Records)
What do you get when you get Overkill’s Jeramie Kling on drums and vocals, Deicide’s Taylor Nordberg on guitar, and Obituary’s Terry Butler on bass to form a killer supergroup? You get the band’s third full-length offering, Mind Trap. Formed in 2020 from the ashes of now defunct band Massacre, this is pure, unadulterated death thrash. It takes no shit, takes no prisoners, and you should take no time in turning up the volume and hitting play.

Pig Pen
Mental Madness (Flatspot Records)
Any chance I can give props to actor/chef/seemingly incredibly good dude Matty Matheson, I’m gonna do it. It also helps that even though this album was written a few years ago and they’re only now getting to releasing and promoting it (probably thinking ‘The Bear’ would help bolster interest), it still kicks a lot of ass.
