Norwegian Authorities are Searching for Two Black Metal Musicians Lost in the Mountains
In what could be a very dire situation for all parties involved, authorities in Norway are conducting a manhunt for two black metal musicians who seemingly have gotten themselves lost in a mountainous region near Tjønnstua.
According to an Instgram post by Dagur Gíslason of Misþyrming, Thorns founder Snorre W. Ruch and Slagmaur guitarist/bassist Rune “General Gribbsphiiser” Røstad went out on a hike together when severe weather hit the immediate area on this past Tuesday. They haven’t been seen since, even though they’d planned to return home this morning.
“A major search operation is now taking place for our friends Snorre W. Ruch and the General from Slagmaur in the mountains of Fosen. They have not returned from a planned hike they started on Tuesday, and severe weather has been reported in the area.
“If you are in Central Norway and able to help, please contact the Chief of Operations at Fosen Fire and Rescue. Please help us share this. We are following the updates in the local newspaper from the peninsula at www.Fosen-folket.no”
That aforementioned newspaper is now reporting that Norwegian authorities have called the Red Cross, fire department, and Civil Defense services to assist in the search.
“The men reportedly reported that they planned to walk inland towards Tussbotna, cross the water with Teksdalsdammen, and spend the night there before they wanted to go up to Torsenget the next day to do some photography work.
“The Red Cross is now following the planned route, which is estimated to take around seven hours and forty minutes to walk. However, why the car is parked at Tjønnstua is a mystery.”
Hopefully we’ll find out what happened to the two men soon. Here’s hope that they’re going to be found in safe and in good health. We’ll update when possible.
