Raven’s Take on Metallica’s Thrash Classic “Metal Militia” Now Streaming

0

There are few more influential thrash metal albums than Metallica’s debut release Kill ‘Em All. Effectively serving as a shot across the bow back in 1983, it was the world’s introduction to Metallica and their Bay Area style of thrash. Now, more than 40 years later, a star-studded tribute album dubbed ‘Til Leather – A Tribute To Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All is about to come out this Friday.

In a bid to get people stoked for its release, Raven’s cover of “Metal Militia” was released to streaming platforms. And if you’re a fan of the original, you’re going to get a kick out of what Raven (who used to tour with Metallica back in the day) does with that trick. It’s an incredibly faithful rendition of the Kill ‘Em All album closer. Speaking of the tribute, Raven’s lead vocalist and bassist John Gallagher expressed his excitement about the project.

“We are very happy and honored to have been asked to be part of this awesome tribute to our old sparring partners,” comments cofounding . “Our cover version is many things as you will hear… in the best tradition of the guys themselves, but I think we captured that Metallica ‘snarl,’ especially by changing a few key elements! It features Mark [Gallagher] on vocals; today all is revealed!”

No Life ‘Til Leather – A Tribute To Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All will be released this Friday via Silver Lining Music. You can preorder your copy or simply wait a couple days for the thing to come out in just a couple days.
