Arch Enemy Split with Longtime Vocalist Alissa White-Gluz
Well here is something not on my 2026 bingo card or whatever it is the kids are saying now. Quite literally out of nowhere, Arch Enemy has announced that after a whopping 12 years, they and vocalist Alissa White-Gluz are parting ways. They have yet to give us any reason for the split, or if they have any sort of replacement ready to lock in.
Both Arch enemy and White-Gluz quite casually dropped the news early this morning (Sunday, November 23) with a pair of separate statements sharing the news. The band’s read:
“Arch Enemy have parted ways with singer Alissa White-Gluz. We’re thankful for the time and music we’ve shared and wish her all the best. Wherever there is an ending, there is also a beginning. See you in 2026.”
White-Gluz followed up with her own:
“After 12 years in Arch Enemy, we have parted ways. I am forever thankful to the thousands of amazing fans I have met along the way. Thank you, Beastlings!
“I can’t wait to share what I have been working on with you all (with some big surprises in store). Stay tuned for big news in 2026 and see you very soon.”
Shortly after White-Gluz’s post, she made another one, where she shared a new solo single and video for the track “The Room Where She Died” (seems like quite a fitting name considering the news it’s accompanying). She said how the song “feels truly satisfying to me; like I get to express myself in so many ways that have been dormant for years,” while, in regard to her solo record, she added: “This upcoming album is diverse; and I love the idea of opening up this new chapter with this song and video, which I wrote the script for.”
Good luck to you, Alissa! Big things are coming your way, and I cannot wait to see who jumps behind the mic for Arch Enemy this time.
