Ex-Skid Row Frontman Erik Grönwall Announces First Solo Show

0

Skid Row‘s former frontman Erik Grönwall has just announced his very first solo concert since leaving the band back in March of 2024. His show is set to take place May 26, 2026 at Cirkus in Stockholm, Sweden.

Grönwall posted the following to his socials Friday, December 5:

“This one is BIG. Like… ‘first time in 15 years’ BIG. Honestly, I could argue it’s the first time ever.⠀

“On May 26th, 2026, I’m doing something I’ve never done before: My very first solo show. Live at the legendary Cirkus in Stockholm.

“I’ve spent my entire career in bands — H.E.A.T., Skid Row, Michael Schenker and I’ve loved every second of it. But now… it’s time to tell my story. To bring my music, my journey, my voice, and everything I’ve become onto one stage.

“Cirkus is where the next chapter begins.

“This show will be:⠀

  • New music from the upcoming solo album⠀
  • My most powerful interpretations from YouTube⠀
  • A five-piece band⠀
  • Pure f***ing rock ‘n’ roll

“I’ve been in this industry for 15 years… and somehow it feels like it starts now.

“Let’s make May 26th a night we’ll never forget.

“Ticket sale starts December 8th at 12:00 but we’ve released some pre-sale tickets NOW.”

The reason the 38-year-old Swedish-born musician had to quit is so sad. He was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia back in March 2021, and announced his departure from the band in March 2024, because it became increasingly “difficult to prioritize” his health and recovery as the lead singer.

About a year ago, Grönwall talked to Shawn Ratches of Laughingmonkeymusic about having to quit:

“It was a really, really tough decision. And if I could have stayed in the band, I would. It just got to a point where I was, like, well, if I’m gonna respect the guy who went through all of this and respect my own values, I just had to make that decision. But it was the right decision, but it was a hard decision.”

Damn, dude. It’s good to see you back on your feet and ready for another show, though!
