Hoaxed Release New Single “The Family”
It’s been a minute since we heard from Portland, Oregon act Hoaxed, having released their debut album Two Shadows all the way back in 2022. Yet with all that time since their last output, the band has grown into a trio with the addition of bassist/vocalist April Dimmick and they’re back with a new offering in tow.
Set for release on February 13, Hoaxed are bringing their sophomore full-length album Death Knocks into the world courtesy of Relapse Records. To mark the album’s impending release, they dropped their latest single “The Family” today.
Featuring the sort of witchy, dark rock act they honed in the mist-filled lands of the Pacific Northwest, this track has a certain energy about it. The addition of Dimmick’s voice to vocalist/guitarist Kat Keo’s already powerful delivery is on display in this one.
“This song came to life very quickly for us – There’s something about it that feels so familiar. It’s a darkness we’re comfortable with and a theme we wanted to poke at – the loyalty that you’re born into with the expectations and responsibilities you inherit.”
Death Knocks will be released on February 13 via Relapse Records, but you can preorder your copy today. Additionally, Hoaxed have some live dates lined up in the Pacific Northwest slated for around the album’s release. You can find those dates below.
