Djentlemen, Behold! Auras Have Released Two New Tracks.

0

Auras, a four-piece progressive metal band from Ontario, have been teasing their new album Heliospectrum for a couple months now. They began with their first single “Waterstone,” released back in July, which fans seem to have reacted positively to. Now they’re back with not one, but two — TWO — new tracks ready to be crammed into your ears. The songs are called “Dream Elixer” and “Spiral,” both of which feature groove-ridden riffs that will no doubt appeal to people that love to tie shit around the nut of their guitars.

“Dream Elixer” has a few moments of honest-to-goodness chug-a-lug that I lost myself in, but other than that there really isn’t much to report back about. It’s a little too After the Burial for me to find appealing (can I use that as a way to describe things now? Who cares). “Spirals” on the other hand… I really dig this one. Reminds me a bit of early Cloudkicker meets early TesseracT. The groove eventually loses itself in an overabundance of djent-y chugs, but it has one helluva start to it.

Check out the videos below and see if you agree with me. Regardless of my thoughts, Heliospectrum is being released on 9/30. You can pre-order it here, and if you’re digging the new songs then let us know in the comments below.
