Slipknot Issue Statement on James Hetfield Entering Rehab and Metallica Tour Cancelation

News broke last night that Metallica singer/guitarist James Hetfield, who has long struggled with substance abuse issues, has re-entered rehab, forcing the cancelation of the band’s upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand with Slipknot.

Slipknot have now issued a statement on the matter, which reads in full as follows:

“To our Australian and New Zealand fans and family,

“We only recently heard the news about the tour being postponed, and we are working as quickly as possible to determine next steps. We will let everyone know as soon as we are able.

“Of course, our thoughts are with James and Metallica. We wish them nothing but the best.
